Baotou is the home of Xiaofeiyang (Little Sheep), a chain of hot pot restaurants which has branches all over China, the USA, Canada and Europe. There are many different local cuisines with hot pot and local BBQ among the best!
With desert, mountain range and grassland areas being close by there are many interesting things to do from camel rides in the desert, skiing in the mountains in winter and experiencing the traditions of the Mongolian culture in the grasslands.
Baotou is located north of the Kubuqi desert and south of the Yinshan mountain. Add in the surrounding grasslands and it makes the region one of China’s most unique landscapes
Baotou is known as a city where people will normally take 2 hour lunches. If you like to move at a slower pace it is a great city to relax and enjoy life
Kundulun Resevoir is a beautiful scenic area which has lots of things to do from speed boat rides to go karting
Saihantala grassland park is the only grassland area in China that is inside an urban area
