Why teach English in Sukabumi?

Mochi Is a Local Favorite: While mochi is often associated with Japan, Sukabumi is famous for its own version of this chewy rice cake. Local mochi is usually filled with sweet mung bean paste and coated in flour. You’ll find it sold in colorful boxes and often given as a souvenir. The city even has a street famously known as “Mochi Alley” (Gang Mochi).

It Has One of the Longest Beaches in Java
Just south of Sukabumi city, the Pelabuhan Ratu coastline stretches along the Indian Ocean. This beach area is not only known for surfing and seafood, but also steeped in local legends—especially the famous story of Nyi Roro Kidul, the mythical Queen of the Southern Sea.

A Surfing Paradise Just a Drive Away: While the city itself is inland, Sukabumi is the gateway to Pelabuhan Ratu and nearby beaches like Cimaja, one of the best surf spots in Java. The waves attract surfers from around the world, and the area is known for its laid-back coastal culture.
